I see that campground every year. I go through in November, it's closed. Did you see the old brown caboose in Stanton?
Took my son to michigan after we stopped in Chicago to see the end of the Route 66 sign in the downtown. What a trip.My son got a job with Fiat Chrysler as an engineer. The Caverns were a great side trip and very fun.The camp grounds and river next to them is real beautiful as well.Pretty cool place have fun,Torrey
Didn't know that route 66 ended there. I have taken the old route, before Interstates and since, when going through places. I think some people just can't imagine what it was like, weaving through every city, on some highway, stop signs, turns, two lanes through every little town. And that was a highway?
I do some more local things. Last year I traveling across the state of Wisconsin on Highway 33 which starts in La Crosse - at a relative non-nondescript point, on some Mississippi River slough. Ends in Port Washington Wisconsin, where I though it was Lake Michigan, but it's not. The "end" is blocks before where it merges into Highway 32. The trip goes over a mountain, around curves, through numerous small places.
Once was enough...
Anyone brave and wondering, this is 4 hours, 200+ miles, condensed into 7 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhrC34nOkyo
Why would I make this time-lapse video. Heck if I know. Just because it was an idea. One frame per second, rendered at 60fps. Wheeeeee!
