Gene, Toby and Jacks bar is just a couple of doors up from Marino's bar on the Arcata Plaza too,I've drinkin in that bar.I'm pretty sure there was gambling in the back room of Marino's and I do remember them talking about it.But like I said I was just a kid then but old enough do drink.Toby and Jacks was more of a sports bar at the time I remember,with pool tables,I do remember Marino's also having 1 pool table in it too.I used to play pool in both.There was another local hang out called the Alibi which was between Marino's and Toby and Jack's.Man you just opened up a bunch of memories from about 35 or so years ago.I am just finding out about the gambling history of the places I used to drink at,because of chip collecting.Thanks again Gene and you are the best for finding the records of these places,Torrey.
