I made a new SSL certificate that just popped up "trusted" and fixed the problem. Despite what I said to some others, I have apparently not been able to send email since yesterday when the problem started. Some helpful posts I found with Google helped me fix the difficulty with a very old but (usually) very reliable email program called EUDORA!
