The lines are on everything, even the background. Not a moire pattern in my opinion, so descreening probably won't do anything. Notice also that the lines are more closely spaced at one end of the scan.

It looks to me like a scanner problem. I don't know what to suggest for a fix but probably not a s/w setting problem.

Does it do the same thing in b/w setting? How about different resolutions? Are you scanning with the cover closed? Same thing with cover open? Do the lines change if you put the chip on a different location on the glass?

Answers to these questions might give you a clue as to what the problem is.
