Certainly a possibility, Jerry. But why didn't they order any purple DIECAR chips if so? Purple is a common roulette color. If the DIECAR mold chips were ordered later, why didn't they get any purple ones?

Either scenario would leave us collectors with a scarce purple chip, so I'm not sure it matters much... but I'd really like to know
