Don, Nice Theory, but ...................

.............why would they need another color of Roulette chips ?? The Chip Guide shows 8 colors for table #4 and 6 colors for table 1 and 3, so we have to assume that 8 colors were probably made for all four tables. If this is true what do they need a 9th color for ?? It is nearly impossible to get more than 7 players all betting a different color chip on the same table. Also I doubt if they did that much Roulette business - 4 tables could accommodate 25 to 30 gamblers at a time. Why would they need 2 more colors ?? I realize Casinos often have "Back up colors" in case something happens to one of the regular colors, but again - why bother to order another color from a different manufacturer.

My theory is that when the Sahara ordered 10c and 25c in the Large Key Mold, the salesman brought along some samples of Large Key Roulette chips - Tables 1,2,3 and 4 in Purple - to try to sell the Sahara Large Key Mold chips for their Roulette games. The Sahara decide to go with the Dice & Cards Mold Roulette chips and the Large Key "Sample" Purple Roulettes eventually some how found their way into collectors hands. This might explain why there are so few of these Purple Large Key Roulettes compared to the Dice & Card Mold Roulettes.

Just MHO.

Take care,
"Mr. Roulette"
PS - I could use Large Key Purple Roulettes from Tables 1, 2, and 3 and also some Dice and card mold chips from table 1 and 2 !!
