I was a lineman with NJ Bell Telephone Co. many years ago, before bucket trucks and power tools (we drilled holes in poles for support hardware with a dual action brace & bit and climbed poles with a body belt & hooks). It was much easier when I retired in 1995 from Bell Atlantic as an outside systems tech (still no bucket truck though.)
