MOUNTAINEER CASINO CHESTER, WV
AFTER TRAVELING UP TO PENNSYLVANIA FROM TENNESSEE, THE SECOND PART OF OUR TRIP WAS UP THROUGH WEST VIRGINIA. CHESTER, WV IS UP IN THE UPPER NECK OF WV.
THE MOUNTAINEER IS A VERY NICE AND NEW AT THE TIME WE VISITED IT. WE ALSO HAD PRE BOOKED A ROOM FOR AN OVERNIGHTER. AFTER I DID MY HARVEST I DECIDED TO PLAY A LITTLE POKER, GUESS WHAT; THE POKER ROOM WAS A MILE AWAY IN THE GRAND STAND OF THE TRACK. RECENTLY I HEARD THEY FINALLY HAVE BUILT A POKER ROOM IN THE MAIN PART OF THE CASINO. THAT WAS A HASSLE CATCHING THE SHUTTLE OVER AND BACK.
WEST VIRGINIA HAS SOME FUNNY RULES AND A VIGIL GAMING COMMISSION. THEY HAVE OFFICIALS IN UNIFORM CIRCULATING AROUND THE CASINO DAY AND NIGHT. ONE THING I THOUGHT WAS A LITTLE OVER THE TOP, IS THAT ALL OF THEIR GAMING IS FENCED IN ON THE INSIDE OF THE CASINO BUILDING WITH SECURITY PEOPLE AT EACH ENTRANCE/EXIT. WITH RESTAURANTS, BARS ETC ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE GAMING AREA.
MY JOB AT THIS PARTICULAR CASINO WAS TO HARVEST THEIR SNAPPER, THEY HAD BEEN OPEN FOR SEVERAL YEARS WITHOUT A SNAPPER AND IT HAD ONLY BEEN ON THE TABLE A COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN I GOT THERE. THIS REQUIRED BREAKING INTO A BLACK JACK GAME THROUGH THE OK OF A PIT BOSS. THEY HAD TWO PITS OF BLACK JACK SO I GOT 10 FROM EACH PIT, AND ASK NANCY TO GRAB ANOTHER 4.
