A couple of places you "never" see!
The Silver Club was at 108 North 1st Street, in Las Vegas from 1932-1956 (lets hope that the site I'm using as reference has the right information... )

The Golden Camel was at 110 North 1st Street in the 1930s.

This was the original part of the Silver Club
Originally, this was the Golden Camel. As you can see from the sign, by the time this photo was taken (mid-late 1940s, I think), this was part of the Silver Club.
Here's an interior shot of the Silver Club, courtesy of UNLV Special Collections
And the interior of the Golden Camel, courtesy of the Nevada State Museum
And according to Janice O'Neal's Silver Club notes on the Chipguide: "bar next door called Golden Camel. Fancy grillwork separated the two businesses, illegal to serve liquor in casinos at that time." (thanks Bedo )
An ad from 1949:
And an ad from a phone book (eBay photo; we didn't win the auction )
And an enlarged portion of the neon postcard that I posted a day or two ago, showing the Silver Club and Golden Camel neons in all their glory
I don't seem to have a scan of our Golden Camel matchbook on this computer...so hopefully Eric and/or Don and/or Jim and/or YOU will come along and post it
Charles, I do have a scan of your movie poster...but I'll hope that you'd like to post it
And maybe someone will post some Silver Club chips...please?
