It is a combined function of your browser, Windows, and Norton.
Why don't you just set the bb as a safe site and then Norton won't interfere with your cookies. That is what is causing your pre-filled data and the NEW flags to disappear. NEW is supposed to indicate posts (within a certain time period) since your last visit.
On the colors, I never figured out how that worked myself, it is Windows related.
