Kregg's book on USPC chips does show a JC like this (5 colors) but plain edge. It was shipped to Los Angeles in 1922. Since Los Angeles County stretches from Malibu to Long Beach, I would think the Jonathan Club's location would be considered "Los Angeles" in a sales record.

Could this be the "Edgewater" chip? Maybe Jonathan Club name is even older than Edgewater?
