I too have a JAH $5 chip like the one you show. It is rumored to be a California chip but I know nothing more about it. There was a J A Hurd Cigar Store in Emeryville, quite some years ago, chip designs unknown. While the initials would fit perfectly - so far, no one has been able to prove it's so.
