Where manufacturing differences occur, they do not necessarily occur in binary instances, as in your example. It is just as possible that of the 10,000 of that particular chip that were manufactured, there could literally be hundreds of shades between the salmon and orange colors. There is simply no better way to list these instances than by just going by the manufacturer's records.

In the event of a re-order, it would be more possible that the second order was made in a discernibly different color. Those we always try to list. This particular chip was re-ordered a couple of months after the original order, but both orders are described as "pink" color.

If anyone else wants to chime in on this, I'd be interested to hear if anyone has this chip in a color between the salmon and orange seen in this thread (in Don's post).
