I don't know if these were gift shop items, gifts to players, advertising...or what. But I think they're cool!!
The Pioneer Club piece is from 1951. It actually has a small 1951 calendar on the back, that would hang down below the frame. Unfortunately, at some time (probably decades ago!) someone took the piece out of the frame, and put it back upside-down !! The frame is a long metal strip that wraps around the glass (visualize wrapping a gift...you have a 36" long strip of paper to wrap a gift that is 10"x7"). Anyway, I'm reluctant to open the frame and put it in rightside-up because I'm afraid the frame might break at a corner! But it's still cool...
We found this one in Winnamucca a year or two ago . What looks like a black background in the scan, is actually a mirror. At the same time we bought one from Monte's Club in Winnemucca; it's not in very good shape, so I put it someplace "safe" so it wouldn't get damaged further. If I could remember where that "safe" place is, I'd scan it for you!
This one didn't scan well, because the glass is curved. The piece actually looks really great!
This one is a little rough...but how many items have you seen from Freddie & Francis Club 25 & Hi-Ho Club? I rest my case.
Seems funny to have a church on a casino advertising piece... The piece is made of metal, and the metal behind the church is solid. The metal behind the other picture has a cut-out in the back that makes me think that it might have been made with a calendar attached.
