was demonstrating the game with those chips. The game was an interesting variation of hold'em. I did get Gene and Bruce together and Gene was kind enough to allow Bruce to demo the game at the Palms.
(NOTE: the game was only demo'ed to the poker room management and NOT in actual play. I do not know if Palms NCV's were used in the demo or if Bruce's chips were used. Perhaps Gene may recall.)
If I am not mistaken, Bruce did get Nevada Gaming approval to test the game, and in 2012 he sent me an email; a portion of which is extracted here:
The launch date is Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 7pm.
I want to personally Thank each and every one of you who have listened to all of my stories and laments about 2-11's evolution and who have been partially responsible for where the game has been and hopefully will go in the future.
I hope to see many of you in Las Vegas when we launch and as always, Let's keep playing 2-11."
It was also approved for play in California and there was at least one California Card Room (Bicycle Club) that offered the game, at least in a Tournament fashion. Another email extraction here:
This event will be a Mystery Bounty tournament. It will be on February 11, 2009. Yes folks...it's debuting on 2-11-2009. The tournament entry fee will, of course, be $211 and each time someone knocks out one of the "Mystery Bounty" players, that player will recieve an on the spot cash award of..... $211.
The Bike will then be spreading the game in their card room."
I do not know if it was spread there on a regular basis or not, or if it is even played there now.
