The Burt company began in 1912 making billiard balls in Portland Maine. They expanded their business making compression molded clay poker chips from 1936 -1988. During that time, they manufactured clay poker chips for all the Las Vegas casinos and sold them through a network of distributors that included, H.C. Williams, Bud Jones, Christy and Jones, TK Specialty, Langworthy and Mason
