There has been some discusion agout the 3 locations of Greyhound clubs in and about Jeffersonvill Indiana. Presented here is a little information that may clear up some of the promblems.
"The Greyhound Trilogy"
1. “The Greyhound Club” [1932-1934] was built by the three Gavin brothers. Weezer J., Jim, and Tom Gavin were from Jeffersonville, Indiana and Dean Furst was from Dayton, Ohio. The Greyhound Club was located on Highway 131 across from The Jeffersonville Dog Mart in what is now Clarksville. The Greyhound Club closed following a fire in 1934.
2. The “Club Greyhound” [1935-1939] Weezer Gavin was again joined by his brothers Jim and Tom in the construction of a much larger, upscale, casino at the intersection of Kopp Lane, Hallmark Lane, and Highway 31. The Club Greyhound closed following a raid in 1939.
3. The “Little Greyhound” [1939-1948] was operated over Antz’s Cafe´ at 117 West Court Avenue, Jeffersonville, Indiana by the Gavin Brothers.
