I agree as well as disagree. How young are we talking? Im in my early 40's and just starting collecting chips two years ago. I used to collect baseball cards and stamps as well. Chip collecting is expensive and there are so many. Im lucky i live in Vegas. That is why i started collecting. It was fun visiting every Casino and getting a chip or two. The older chips i have no interest in as i find them bland and i have no memorys or ties with them. I do however like chips with certain themes or entertainers on them. Hardrock has some good ones with bands on them. Brings back memories and it also interests people who do not collect chips but collect their favorite band memorabilia.
So is it hard to entice younger crowds? Absolutely. You are right. They are more interested in spending time and money on electronics than most anything collectible. Is there a way we can get a young celebrity to the show, make special chips with their face on it and have him or her autograph them at the show?
