I've lived in New Jersey for 28 years during that time I've paid New Jersey taxes on my New York income. Fair enough.
Since I've been retired I have continued to pay New Jersey taxes on my New York pension. What bugs me is that my coworkers, living in New York, do not pay any state tax on their pension.
I don't see the benefit of paying an extra $5k for the privilege of living in Jersey. Hopefully by next year, I'll be in Hotlanta.
