Great stuff… I've always thought we need an ED

an Executive Director hired by the BOD to work full-time on club business. We need someone full-time who lives in LV and can make real relationships. Someone who can manage the Club's daily business and be accountable and let go if they are not fulfilling their job description... but they need to have the some real autonomy. It should be a person that was less about chip collecting and more about a solid resume of running an efficient Not for Profit organization. I would advertise the position and get the very best we could afford. I believe there needs to be more transparency with the decision making of the BOD, so club members understand how the BOD works. Last year I posted a rant here about not much being discussed at the Club's Business meeting at the convention. It was not existent this year. NO new business brought up, No old business discussed. I think everyone is tired of talking about it, but this is where we have an opportunity to communicate to members. If the ship is taking on water… what can we do about it? I know the BOD works their butts off… we need to know more about it. We need to transition our BOD from a founding board to a funding boards. Boards Member roles are to raise money and support the mission. They shouldn't be labored with every club decision like when to put out a tweet. They should guide the ED and let them do their job. (insert job description)
