Great story Ricky...My buddy Steve S (You probably know from the AC club) and I did that Vegas World deal in 1986..Made a few bucks off the free play and hit all the casinos surrounding and took a taxi to the Barbary Coast and hit all those casinos in that area.Never thought about keeping chips as a souvenier though and kicking myself still..Money was too tight on that trip and every dollar chip meant a dollar..Still I kept this from the trip and a keno guide from Ceasars..
And BTW at Vegas World..I think the original work was being done for the Strat and one night they informed the guests that the power would go out overnight and flashlights were delivered door to door by security..Room was fine though..What a trip.
Plane back to EWR on National was cancelled..Got on another to Laguardia around midnight...found a driver to take us to Newark parking lot that cost us $100 or so...there went my Vegas winnings but survived and got home unscathed.
I found out about the overall hobby in general through my buddy being in the coin biz and found out some of the loose AC chips I had kept were now collectable..
We were in AC together the day they issued the new GN chips and I bought $100 worth..Use them for the contests on the board.
