I had a problem with my Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner. Certain colors were way off. I found Epson customer service to be very responsive. I sent him two scans of the same chip (pre and post problem) He didn't believe they could be the same chip. He said there was probably something fatally wrong with the hardware. The only thing he could think of was to do a software reset. It's a function buried somewhere in the scanner software menu. Anyway.....that immediately fixed the problem. And so it goes.
