I know our committee has looked at the location giving consideration to a number of factors but in the past have opted for the cheaper rental that South Point (and before, the Riv) gives us--plus cheaper rooms. Although that is a problem. In the past I have always been able to find lower priced rooms at the Convention hotels than our Convention rate. Nonetheless, I have always booked in at the Convention rate as the Club needs to fill its quotas.
I just think that to attract new members (critical) we need to be seen--need to be where the walk ins can enter--and--we should admit the public free (taking the loss).
