I hope anyone who will cast a vote for CCGTCC Vice President will take the time to do some research on the candidates. It is my hope that anyone casting a vote will care enough for the Club to do so.
In doing such research:
Consider that the BoD needs to be a group who can work together, respectfully, even if in disagreement. There should be no rogue elements and all BoD members should be concerned with the WHOLE Club and its membership.
Consider the candidate’s attitude toward the Club and the members thereof, both in the past and currently. Consider how such an attitude that would affect Club membership and would impact the number of volunteers who actively work, many on a daily basis, for the benefit of the organization.
Consider that behaving appropriately in public, whether posting on a message board or talking to members at the convention is critical to the position.
Consider the Club’s image and the impact of such a person on the Club when interacting not just with members but with potential benefactors, with Gaming Control or our host hotel.
Consider the Club’s 501 (c) 3 status. The Club needs a VP with an understanding of the 501 (c) 3 status and why it's important to the organization.
Consider the candidate’s basic understanding of the Club’s Constitution and By-Laws and procedures.
Consider that where a BoD member lives has no impact on the duties of the office nor does whether the candidate is employed or not.
Consider that the candidate you vote for will not be representing just the organization but you, as a member.
Check out TheChipBoard archives 12-17 (easy to search using the last name of the poster) and see how each of the candidates has handled themselves in relation to the Club and its members.
Consider the CLUB and hobby before voting for either candidate.
My vote will be for Jay Sands. I served one term with Jay as a BoD member, I know him to truly care about the organization and hobby, to be professional, honest, hardworking and willing and able to do whatever needs to be done for the benefit of the Club.
Thank you.
