I also have no pony in this. Rich has been fun on the board and seems like a good guy. I have no idea how honest or fair he is as a business owner. However, the "display," a plastic case with insert, can't cost more than $5 and this one looks used. I personally would not spend more than $2 a piece for chips like those, if I had any interest in chips like those. The blanks are cheap asian chips, which cost less than a $1 apiece, if I remember what I have read on this board before. I am sure the playable set guys can say for sure. In today's prices, scarce, not common, old Caribbean chips are selling for $5 and $6. How can these be worth more?
I do think the appropriate action, however, would have been to contact Rich Burgel directly and ask if he would mark them as copies or commemoratives, letting buyers know they are not from the casinos shown on them. If he refused, then I might post on the board. I do not think chips like these should be sold without clearly labelling them what they are.
