I'll let others share their horror stories. Over the years, there have been plenty of sellers who say they do similar stuff and it has never caused a problem. Then buyers start revealing broken chips, postage due, and ripped envelopes (sometimes with contents missing). In addition, if a dishonest buyer tells eBay he never received his chips, the lack of delivery confirmation means eBay will refund the purchase out of your account.
I've decided none of this is worth the risks, even though I hate to pass the shipping cost on to customers (+ the 10% eBay charges sellers for its shipping commission). I do the bubble envelope with the mandatory minimum 3-ounce package postage.
