HARVEST STORIES FROM AN ADDICTED CHIP COLLECTOR
BY RICHARD “REGGIE” GUMMER
SOME PEOPLE HAVE COMPULSIONS TO GAMBLE, SOME TO AMASS FORTUNES AND OTHER’S, WELL THEY JUST LIKE TO WRITE STORIES. YEAH, THAT WOULD BE ME. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED TO WRITE, NEVER WAS VERY GOOD AT IT; BUT I HAVE DONE IT OVER THE YEARS JUST THE SAME.
EVERY WEDNESDAY I AM GOING TO ADD A HARVEST STORY TO THE PAGE OF THE DAY.
IF ANY OF YOU WANT ANY INSIDE INFORMATION ON ANY CASINO THAT I’VE BEEN TO, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW.
IF ANY OF YOU HAVE SOME UNIQUE EXPERIENCES HARVESTING, AND HAVE A STORY OR TWO, PLEASE; BY ALL MEANS SUBMIT THEM. I AM THINKING OF ADDING THESE ON THURSDAY’S POD, WITH YOUR PERMISSION AND YOU BEING ACCREDITED.
IF YOU LIKE THEM BY ALL MEANS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. REGGIE NEW STORY THIS WED.

A WANTED CHIP
This is a chip I would like to acquire through trade or purchase please email if you have one available or know someone who has one available. Even if you do not have the denomination or mold shown, you should know that it is possible that I may need other denominations or molds from this casino. Please email me with any items that you would like to sell or trade. Thanks, Reggie

OFFERS
I would like to take a few moments on the word offer(s) and to the occasional appearance of this word in my pages. Most folks are cognizant of the meaning and how it applies when a price is not provided at the end of a listing.
However, there may be a few of you that do not. It might be because you are new to the hobby or you are used to other businesses or hobbies that treat it differently.
To me and I may be wrong, but it means:
• A price you may have previously seen, recently.
• A price based on scarcity or rarity.
• A price based on demand
• Not a lowball price to see what flies
• If you are not sure, it is better to just ask for at least the last price it was sold; if the seller has this price he will respond accordingly.

If anyone has any better points applicable to this subject; please let me know, and I will include them in this note. Sincerely Reggie

ANGLE SHOOTERS, CHISLERS, LOW BALLERS & etc

You have experienced them in the cardrooms, please let me explain how they apply to our hobby.

First and foremost, let me make this perfectly clear that this does not apply to .99&44/100% of us. But, if you want to know who the shoe fits……then read this:

There seems to be a very small amount of chip collectors from time to time visit us on our blog boards and conventions, that just cannot shoot straight. But if they get hurt in some transaction or something happens to them during a transaction that is not right in their estimation then they cry “foul”. You know who you are.

I have had a few of these types, attempt various things over the years to me, and many of my friends and customers. I think something needs to be done to help prevent these actions from happening; but I fall short of creating black lists or airing dirty laundry in public. I am always available for any kind of discussion, with like- minded “chippers”.

The best part of being a member of the CC-GTCC is that it narrows these types down to .99&88/100%. One thing; I do, do is save emails as a CYA policy. Also, I try to re-write any response to any actions of any scenarios, I find myself in; several times during a 24 hour period of time, instead of firing off a knee-jerk reaction. Be advised that I do trade & sell to many non-members, but sometimes it takes a while to gain trust with non-members and vice-versa.
A Problem that has occurred to yours truly, is where a deal was made, and after it was completed; the fact that items were sold way to cheap was discovered by me, and I asked to have the deal rescinded and a portion returned to me. This was negated by the buyer (a CC-GTCC member); they chose the money over the personal friendship and trade relationship.

One big problem has always been the USPS. There always seems to be a different set of circumstances that surround each “lost shipment”. What to do? Does the shipper or customer take the hit, or both? This seems to be the way some collectors acquire their chips, have you noticed?

And my biggest question: do we have on file somewhere procedures to follow in these circumstances? If not, is it about time? And lastly; should I just delete this last question? And stay out of this problem. And handle these things as they develop one at a time. Your thoughts on the matter would be highly appreciated. Sincerely; Reggie…
