Barry, one is Alamo, but you have to become a member(free) of the Alamo Insider on line. Once you have done that you need to check in on line and print out 1 sheet of paper, that's it. Then hop the shuttle to the car rental building and go directly to the Alamo area and pick out any car or truck you singed up for in the aisle. Fist stop with be the check out booth, 1 minute later you are on Warm Springs Road. Only person I talk to is the person in the check out booth. Saves me time and best of all no lines.

About cost , this is nothing extra. Does Alamo get more than the lower tier rental companies, yes. Are they competitive with the big brand names yes very. I check everyday if my rates have changed and I usually change the reservations 5 to 6 times because of lower prices. If you do this diligently you should get a decent price. Was out during March Madness, rented a 2015 Camry with 700 miles on it. Many of their vehicles I found have between 1,000 to 18,000 miles. I rented from them all and they usually have the newest fleet of them all.

I rent from Alamo about 6x a year for the past 3 years. I used to rent from Dollar but "things change"

One hint is if you pick out a Toyota it will not have Sirius XM activated but if you pick out a Nissan it usually does (without paying for it). Just has been like that in the last couple years if that makes a difference to you.
