It wasn't meant to come across that way, apologies for any confusion. The intention of the Anthony Carleo section was not to imply that the RFID technology was the reason that Carleo got caught, more to highlight how it meant the chips were unusable after the theft, as is reported in the link. I wrote in the piece that "Carleo was caught when undercover police – posing as buyers – caught him trying to sell them", but I'm sorry if the wrong message was implied. Are you a chip collector yourself? This is really exciting for me as a writer, hearing feedback from people we hoped the story would reach!
