eBay NCR Worlds Best Put & Take $49 now,11 PM(ET)

My ebay eBay auction for the world's best bi-level Put and Take-like vintage brass spinning top ends tonight at 11 PM (ET). At this moment it is bid up to only $49! It's the heaviest known brass spinner -- a monster at 72 grams. Great condition, spins great too.

Not sure of the names on the top or the age, but one name surely stands out as a clue: Zev. Zev (1920-1943), one of the names on a side of the spinner, was a famous American thoroughbred horse racing champion and National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame inductee. …. Bred by the famous horseman John E. Madden, Zev was owned by the Rancocas Stable of Harry F. Sinclair, the founder of Sinclair Oil, who was a central figure in the Teapot Dome scandal and served time in prison. Sinclair named the horse in honor of his friend and personal lawyer, Colonel James William (also known as J.W.) Zevely. …in 1923. Zev encountered problems in the Preakness and finished 12th but came back to win the Derby and then the Belmont Stakes. Zev retired as racing's all-time leading money earner, surpassing Man o' War's record….. raced 1922-1924.

The comparison picture above shows how large the Red Fox spinner auctioned here is relative to the ordinary "Odds On" spinner you usually see, like the Pillory-Lucky Hour- Bunting-Colin- Man-O-War-Morvich top on the left, which is generally 28 grams, 1-1/8 inch long and 15 mm wide (flat to flat). The Red Fox spinner is 72 grams, 1-1/2 inch long and 21 mm wide (flat to flat). Most Put and Take tops are 16 or 18 grams. Only the Red Fox spinner is up for auction here.

Good luck & happy bidding!

Robert
