It's A Pleasant Walk...

From the Riverside, walking south to the Aquaris, Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Tropicana (across the road and away from Colorado River), Golden Nugget, Pioneer and River Palms (someone said it has downsized, but have no knowledge of it). Harrah's is not accessible by using river walk. Only other casino is AVI -- but you need a car or someone told me there was a shuttle, but not sure about that. If you have an aversion to walking, you can go to all the casinos -- including Harrah's when you purchase a water taxi ticket. One thing we enjoyed very much was taking the jet boat to Lake Havasu Landing. I think the boat makes two runs daily, it is reasonably priced, and the view along the river and canyons is spectacular. Once at Lake Havasu, there's London Bridge -- the original bridge that spanned the Thames River. The bridge was purchased, disassembled and shipped to the U.S. Check schedules before you go to see if there is enough time to run over to Lake Havasu Landing Casino-- an Indian reservation casino that's accessible by small boat shuttle. But, be sure you know schedules or you would have a long trip back to Laughlin if you miss the jet boat. If you have an automobile, cross the Colorado River into Arizona at Bullhead City, and drive a short trip to Oatman, AZ -- a very nice old gold mining town that has been restored and has a lot of charm. You can even feed the wild burros -- the leftover beasts from the Gold Mining Days. Well worth the trip. Or, drive to Williams, AZ, and the gateway city to the Grand Canyon. We took a the Grand Canyon Railroad from Williams to the East Rim of the canyon. It was a daylong trip, but well worth it. The train goes right to the rim and the trip is very entertaining while the train uses switchbacks to climb the altitude into the canyon. Also, at Williams there is a railroad museum and the famous Route 66 strip loaded with antique shops and good places to eat.
