THE OLD FRONTIER CASINO DOWNTOWN NEXT TO THE GOLDEN NUGGET .... CLOSED AND BECAME THE LUCKY STRIKE CLUB. ATOP ON EACH SIDE OF THER TALL SIGN WERE 2 GIANT MINERS PANNING FOR GOLD / SILVER ... THE NAME WAS SHORTNED TO THE LUCK CLUB AND IN 1968 THE GOLDEN NUGGET EXPANDED AND THE MINERS WERE PLACED IN STORAGE. FORT LUCINDA CASINO OPENED OUT AT HOOVER DAM AND THE MINERS WERE PLACED OUT FRONT ON THE HIGHWAY FOR PHOTO OP'S ETC. LATER IT BECAME THE GOLD STRIKE INN AND THE WERE MOVED EAST TO THE NEW BIG GOLD STRIKE SIGN ... ONE ON EACH SIDE. 1998 A HUGE FIRE ENGULFED THE GOLD STRIKE AND THE CASINO HOTEL CLOSED. I ALMOST GOT TO BUY THE 2 MINERS FROM THE HOTEL, BUT THE DECIDED TO MOVE THEM OUT TO THE OTHER GOLD STRIKE HOTEL CASINO AT JEAN NEVADA. THAT'S WHERE THEY SIT UNDER THE SUN AT THE REAR ENTRANCE TO THE GOLD STRIKE AT JEAN. A FEW YARDS AWAY FROM THE OLD POP'S OASIS CASINO ALSO IN JEAN. THESE 2 ICONS OF LAS VEGAS GAMBLING ARE ALMOST 65 YEAR'S OLD AND STILL SMILE DAILY! NOW YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE 2 GUYS .... THANKS FOR LISTENING AND ENJOY THE PHOTOS .... RICH BURGEL
