The property was swallowed up by Boyd Gaming who bought Coast Casinos from Michael Gaughan and his partners. Harrah's Entertainment bought the Westward Ho after a Condo deal for the property did not pan out, then traded it to Boyd Gaming for the Barbary Coast. This trade gave Boyd more property for their Echelon project that eventually was mothballed. Harrah's Entertainment then rebranded the Barbary Coast to Bill's Gambling Hall.
