GREAT INFO ERIC .... MY UNCLE WAS A WELDER AND HELPED BUILD THE FOUNTAINBLEAU HOTEL ... I REMEMBER POOL HOPPING THERE ... MY FAMILY HAD A 2 MAN KYACK AND MY SISTER AND I USED TO GO UP AND DOWN THE BEACH IN IT FROM PIER PARK (SOUTH BEACH) AND OUR FUN WAS TO PULL UP ON THE BEACH .... RUN IN TO THE POOL .... GET UP ON THE HIGH DIVEING BOARDS AND DIVE IN.... WE WOULD GET CHASED OUT BY THE CABANA BOYS AND GET BACK IN THE KYACK. THERE USED TO BE A A SMALL REEF OUT ABOUT 50 YEARDS FROM THE SHORE ... THAT KEPT THE WAVES SMALL FOR US. I ALSO LEARNED TO ICE SKATE AT THE FOUNTAINBLEAU HOTEL ... THEY HAD A NICE RINK FOR GUESTS. I ALSO REMEMBER THE POODLE LOUNGE AND HARRYS AMERICAN BAR ... HAD GREAT CUBAN EXOTIC FLOOR SHOWS. I WAS AN EXTRA IN THE MOVIE "TONY ROME" WITH SINATRA ... FILMED ALSO AT THE FOUNTAINBLAEU .... I GO TO GET BACK THERE ONE MORE TIME ... SEE YA!
