There is a difference is the Microsoft package from 2007 to 2013. At this point, I would go with the latest versions. In terms of home or student versions, there is more support, updates, etc with the home version than with the student versions. At this point, I don't have a disk for any software packages, just a key so when I want to install the items I can. I hope this helps a bit!
