My sister Becky is going in this morning for surgery. She was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and they will be removing her entire thyroid. If possible, she could use all of the payers she can get. Thanks, Dan R-8220

Her surgery consultation is in about 2 weeks and we will know after that more about what's going on.If anyone is in a spot where they could donate, some of my sisters friends have set up a profile for her at http://www.gofundme.com/kezxt4 to try and help her with some of her medical and lost work expenses. Donations are not expected from anyone but if you felt inclined they would be greatly appreciated. This will be a pretty big financial blow to my sister and everything would help. Even if you can't donate, please go to the site and share it to your Facebook page to help get the word out. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Dan R-8220Original post: This week my family received news from the doctor that nobody ever wants to hear. My little sister Becky Cooley was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 27. From what we have been told, this type of cancer is highly treatable but scary none the less. On top of that, my sister doesn't have great health insurance and will be hampered by some large medical bills and the need to take an extended time off of work.So far, she seems to be in good spirits and handling it pretty well but as you would expect this kind of thing definitely takes its toll on you and your family / friends. My sister and her fiancé were in the middle of planning their wedding for next fall but as always the medical problems will come first. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Some of my sisters friends have set up a profile for her at http://www.gofundme.com/kezxt4 to try and help her with some of her medical and lost work expenses.
