that would be correct. My take is that if I see a nice old AC chip that I would like to add to my collection, even though I don't collect AC chips, and I KNEW you were bidding on the chip and REALLY wanted it, then I would drop out of bidding.
If I have no way of knowing who the other bidders are then I might keep bidding for a while and the price to the final bidder would be higher. Good for the seller, not good for the buyer.
Also, if a lot of ten chips was sold and some other bidders down the line knew who bought them, they would be able to contact the winning bidder to possibly purchase one of the chips.
