The Sundance opened in 1980 on Fremont at 3rd, a property owned by Moe Dalitz, aka & Mr. Las Vegas,& one of the major figures who shaped Vegas from the late 1940s-80s. Sundance was his last casino-hotel project. Facing charges of skimming, the owners of Sundance were forced by the Gaming Commission to sell in 1987.
