Old Slot Machine

I finally got home to NJ my father-in-law's old slot machine from Florida.
I believe it is from 1942, although it would seem that Victory Chief would indicate it is from 1945 when Victory was attained in World War II.
As is common with old collectibles, I am not sure what to do about cleaning and restoring the machine. Two of the three glass pieces are cracked. I don't know if I should just replace the glass and leave the rest of the machine as is or try to clean it or paint it.
The machine worked fine before it left Florida. The mechanism seems to work OK now, but does not pay out. I got a manual and I think I need to fill the coin tube and jackpot.
I do not plan to ever sell the machine or get rid of it, but to keep it in the family.
Any advice as to what to do and how to do it and where to get the glass would be very much appreciated.
Thanks--Alan.
