This week my family received news from the doctor that nobody ever wants to hear. My little sister Becky Cooley was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 27. From what we have been told, this type of cancer is highly treatable but scary none the less. On top of that, my sister doesn't have great health insurance and will be hampered by some large medical bills and the need to take an extended time off of work.

So far, she seems to be in good spirits and handling it pretty well but as you would expect this kind of thing definitely takes its toll on you and your family / friends. My sister and her fiancé were in the middle of planning their wedding for next fall but as always the medical problems will come first. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.
