gained by trading. However, if your window period for trading is quite small say 2 weeks of vacation, one week at the convention, 3 weeks of bad inclement weather that shuts down huge areas of the north; then it is hard getting the attention of others for trading. I find that those that stick with the hobby and educate their trading partners as to their availability, have actual lists or scans prepared when they are approached by other collectors, and are willing to set up future appointments generally get all the action they can handle.
While this thread of interest has been on the CB I have made at least 3 trades. If you noticed I post every day. If you notice I also solicit for trades every day. I find that people will approach me to sell, trade and/or buy once they learn that I will follow through with all transactions.
I believe the hobby will grow with the economy, and everyone knows what needs to be done there.
I will answer any newbies "dumb" questions anytime.
Knowing values of chips is an education in itself, you have to take that upon yourself to learn, make hobby friends, go to trade shoes and conventions.
I put a lot into the hobby, and I get a lot out of it. Many of you have active lives, I am retired and have the time to enjoy the hobby to the fullest.
Email me and I will email you back, I will give you my phone if you really want some serious info.
But, But yeah there is a but; do not blame other people, the organization, step up to the plate and make things happen your self...
And that is my story and I am stickin' to it...lol Reggie
