Boardwalk Hall is not used as a convention center any longer since the new convention center was built next to Sheraton, where the train comes into town.

Harrah's is currently building a brand new convention center now under construction, so there must be ample demand for convention facilities. If Taj Mahal closes, a major event venue will bite the dust when/if Etes Hall shuts down.
