Sheldon, I first went to Macao in 1976, when it was a Portuguese Colony and when there were only 2 Casino's.
The LISBOA Casino, almost financed the whole of Macao. Every weekend, the Clothing Factories in H.K.,(with some having 5,000 Employees) would send 2 Representatives to Macao, to play on behalf of most/all of the Factory Employees. Each Employee contributing between HK$20 - HK$50. Any Winnings would then be split by the Contributors.
There was NO Macao Airport or Jetfoils. You would travel from H.K. by either Ship, with a Casino full of Slot Machines which Bells that rang out the whole way, a journey of more than 4 hours or by Hydrofoil, a journey of just over 1 hour.
How times have changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
