I've always wondered about the old engraved chips with the Punch character on them. It's one of a few chips Dale Seymour coded that seems to have a completely British theme. Of course there are the Prince of Wales design and a few others. I saw this ad for Punch Cigars and it got me digging a little to find out more about the character. It seems that in the 1880's Punch was also a favorite in the US as well as Great Britain. Punch, and his wife Judy, would often butt heads over just about everything. So I guess it was a fun theme with the boys when they got together around poker table.
