Power Company Defunct Revel Casino-Hotel

Power Company Agrees To Another Week of Service at Defunct Revel Casino-Hotel:

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) — The power plant that serves the closed-down Revel hotel-casino, in Atlantic City, has pulled its threat to cut off service — at least until next week.

City officials have been warning of health and safety concerns, plus the potential for mold formation if the utilities are shut off at Revel.

Attorneys for ACR Energy Partners and the Revel agreed to keep talking, until February 11th at least, about the mounting bill owed to the power company. Bankruptcy judge Gloria Burns has scheduled a hearing for that date if things aren’t worked out.

But if Florida developer Glenn Straub closes on his deal to buy the resort, he has to act by Monday, potentially making that hearing moot.

Businesses inside the Revel property continue their appeal to try to block the sale to Straub.
