POD - INTRO - COTY'S 
THE STATE OF THE PAGE OF DAY
I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THE POD IN THE NEW FORMAT OF 4-8 PAGES PER DISPLAY, SEEMS TO BE WORKING OUT QUITE WELL. A FEW MINOR ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE ON THE NEXT CYCLE WHICH WILL COMMENCE MID-LATE OCTOBER. I WILL BE CHANGING THE FORMAT OF THE BETTER SETS. I HAVE ABOUT 90 SETS VARYING FROM 2 CHIP TO 12 CHIP IN SIZE. THESE ARE HARDER TO KEEP TRACK OF AND HARDER TO DISPLAY. AND DID YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE ON A REVERSE AUCTION? I AM GOING BACK TO “THE SET OF THE DAY” THE WAY I STARTED MY CHIP BOARD DISPLAYS WAY BACK WHEN. I HAVE ALREADY ADDED IT AS A FEATURE TO THE CURRENT POD.
THERE WILL BE A COUPLE OF TITLES THAT WILL BE MERGED TO GIVE THAT POD SOME EXTRA PAGES AND MORE CLOUT. ONE WILL BE THE ODD DENOMINATIONS; IT WILL BE ADDED TO THE MISCELLANOUS ITEMS. ANOTHER WILL BE, THE COTY’s; THEY WILL BE ADDED TO THE INTRODUCTION PAGE TO GIVE YOU SOME “EYE CANDY” WHILE LOOKING AT ON THE FIRST DISPLAY DAY OF EVERY NEW CYCLE OF “THE PAGES OF THE DAY”.

Meanwhile, below is a gathering story from me. Your call to use it whenever.
I still do a fair amount of travel for work, and, depending on where I’m going, my wife will go with me. She particularly likes the west coast cities (we’re in Massachusetts) but some other places appeal to her. However, regardless of where my travels take me, to the extent possible, I will do some gathering based on what the Chipguide tells me I’m missing (but I always ask just in case!). I also try to do some sightseeing along the way, especially when my wife is with me. Last fall we were in Portland Oregon for a meeting and, after the meeting, drove to the Oregon coast then inland to Crater Lake (one of the most beautiful scenic spots in the world) and then to Warm Springs and back to Portland. Picked up a couple of chips along the coast and then, in Warm Springs (Indian Head) got not only their new(ish) $1.00 but also a couple of $5.00 which were not in the Chipguide (since posted). All in all, a very nice trip for the scenery and for chippin’.

I am always trying to put things together that have some semblance of balance. Of course, that will always be in the eye of the beholder. Some of these may attract you the collector a little or a lot, no matter which way it attracts, please know I am always trying to help you out, with items you want at price that is fair. CHIP TRADING THE SHORT VERSION
10 QUICK POINTS
1)Try to be an equal partner in the trade, do not make one party of the trade do all the work.
2)I try not to do lateral trading. In other words; I do not like to trade any chips I have one of for another chip I do not have any of; and I have it in my personal collection already.
3)Commons for commons, Current table chips for current table chips, new racks for new rack.
4)Denominations should be handled the same as commons, in most cases a $5 chip for a $5 chip.
5)The obsolete group…these have to be traded based on the Guides valuation. And/or the asking price.
6)It is always up to the two people that own the two chips that want to trade; to be satisfied with the trade. It is a trade when it is mutually acceptable to both parties.
7)I prefer to trade with CC-GTCC members, because of the honesty of this group is impeccable. I do and have made trades with non-members.
8)Try not to send severely nicked, damaged, or extremely dirty chips.
9)A trading policy, is usually never the same with any two chip collectors, try to briefly explain your trading policy up front as soon as possible, in order to circumvent any surprises.
10)Always let the trading partner know when you receive your chips.

Starting 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
