I think the chip marked "LTD" is harder to find. They were awarded to guests who signed up for a player's club card in the first few days after the Max opened. One had to amass a certain number of points on the card (playing slots or table games) to redeem for a free $5 chip. You could not buy any from a table, even if you spotted one in the racks. Not sure how many of the "unlimited" chips were produced, but when this Greenhorn wandered into the Max a couple of weeks later, and learned of the process, he played "Little Red" for a few minutes and came up with a block of 8 wolf icons, which bounded across the screen, for a $120 jackpot. Ahhhwoooo! In less time than the player's club representative believed possible, I was back with my required points and awarded the coveted chip -- but one without the LTD.
Maybe some of our Las Vegas correspondents know more about how the Max G.O. chip program worked?
