I use premium even in my Camry V6. Most all modern engines run by computers and have ping sensors. If you use lower octane, they will still run but retard the spark until the ping goes away. The only way to get the performance the engineer built into it is to use octane rated gas that doesn't ping even when the spark is at optimum setting.

But then, I only drive 5000-7000 miles a year now that I'm retired and don't drive much. The Camry SE V6 still has what I need and the extra gasoline cost is negligible. I'd still like to have a car like yours, though .
