Some engraved antique poker chips

I've ended up with quite a few extra antique poker chips as I built my collection. Here are some of the more interesting ones that have engraved images (actually, there are a couple of embossed chips too). Armin Pfaender got me started on this specialty about 15 years ago by selling me the first Seymour book. Robert Eisenstadt helped with many of the individual chips from his extensive web site.

If you've considered exploring this particular side street in the chip collecting hobby, here are a few you might think about. It's not as expensive as collecting casino chips but many of the individual chips are 75-100 years old. The design names and catalog numbers are from Dale Seymour's book of 20 years or so ago. The letter following the : is his relative value code which goes from c to h on these particular chips, or about $2 to $20. The values at the high end of the alphabet (up to $5,000) are mostly ivory, which I've never gotten involved with.

I forgot to add the code for the yellow American Flag chip which is PM-GN:e.

All are clay except for two ad chips which are celluloid or some kind of old plastic.

The ornate single letter chips like the "A" shown are a challenge to complete. I have never found any color chip of seven letters of the alphabet, and some of the others only in one or two colors.

The chips in the scan below are available for:

Top row: $8 each

Second row: $5 each

Bottom two rows: $3 ea

Postage is $2 for any number of chips.
