Playing in NY is tougher than in other locations. The press will tear you apart if you don't deliver as expected. Look at how many great players came to NY teams and failed. It is testament to any player who makes it big in NY. Jeter was a stellar player, but a not a superstar. He consistently put up great numbers and was awesome in the field. But mostly he made his teams better, good enough to win 5 World Series on his watch. And he did it humbly and without controversy. He would not have had the some stage to perform on in Cincinnati and in my opinion would not have been able to achieve the same level of success.
